Putin doctrine

Chairing a meeting of Russia's Security Council, President Vladimir Putin said that any attack on Russia that was aided by a nuclear power would be considered to be a joint attack.

This puts NATO squarely in the crosshairs of the change in Russian nuclear doctrine and also sends a stark signal to terrorist entities that may find support out of the Levant, as alleged with the Moscow Opera attacks.

Russia has also squeezed the space for India and China, should they lean towards Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia.

Putin also said that Russia could use nuclear weapons if it was attacked by any state.

If attacked by swarms of drones, missiles, or aircraft, Russia said that it could use nuclear weapons to counter such a move and that this "clarification" was "carefully calibrated" to take stock of the modern threats facing Russia.

Put in further said that Russia would consider using nuclear weapons if Belarus were to come under attack.

The change in the nuclear stance by the Russian Security Council is the clearest indication yet of Russia miniaturizing its nuclear weapons and building tactical, battlefield weapons, integrating them with its army, navy, and air force.

The battlefield could also see the use of depleted uranium against heavy armor, as happened to devastating effect during Desert Storm against Saddam Hussein's tank formations and armored Corps.

Russian impatience with Ukraine is also clearly visible with warfighting not showing any signs of easing up, and with Ukraine striking a defiant stance.

It appears that the Russians are using the war as an excuse to fine-tune and develop their war tactics and strategies and integrate their military into a network-centric war machine under hostile, battlefield conditions.
